Profit Center Mandatory

Hi,

I made profit center mandatory for ROH material type in OMS9

It is optional for MM01,2,3

The profit center appears in SALES-Plant storage-costing view and is mandatory

When i am trying to create material with basic1,2 and purchasing view system is asking for profit center

My requirement is Profit Center should be mandatory only when that particular view is selected

Is there any solution for this issue?

Hi Jeya,

Client does not agree to use transaction variant

And the earlier posts are related to , how to make profit center optional for material a particular material type

Here the requirement is although for a material type it is mandatory it should be view specific

When purchasing division is creating purchase view Profit center should not be mandatory

But when Sales is being created it should be mandatory as the 'PCRTR' field is in Sales view

Is there any solution for this?

Please follow the below mentioned instructions. These instructions will specifically make only profit center

mandatory. If you apply it to MM01,2,3, it becomes mandatory for all transactions performed within

these transactions. You need to isolate them to this group only.

For each material type you have to define the field reference
Logistics general>Material Master>basic settings>mat. types>define attributes
Check what value you have defined for your material types.

then go to OMSR, search for field name MARC-PRCTR and click the field selection maintenance 
button. below you will find the field reference group that you are using in your material types. 
Select the one you are using and copy to a new Z entry. change the setting from optional to required and save.
Then assign to the specific material group the new Z entry.

But in such a way you get the field mandatory/optional per material type and NOT per view. don't you?

Try creating transaction variant for MM01 for selected views using SHD0,Test it in development,before applying it live.
