User langauge for broadcasting

Hi experts,

When I create a broadcast setting, I can choose only French or English for the language. But we want to send the report to german users too.

In the SAP help I found this : The system offers you a choice of the languages that are installed in the BI system.

Does that mean that the german language is not installed ? However, we can log in SAP BI in german.

Any idea ?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your quick answer !

When I try to maintain one texts language dependent characteristic, I can only insert data with language key 'FR' or 'EN'.

With 'DE' a message appear : Language DE not in system.

I think that's a problem of language installation.

Hello,

Check the propriety of the language configuration in your system with the report RSCPINST (see attached OSS Note 42305 for further information).

I saw some similar cases, when customer followed this Note and added the language "DE" to the language customizing part of transaction I18N then the problem solved.

Thanks.

Thanks very much !

I used the program RSCPINST and I added the 'DE' entry. And now everything's fine. I can maintain the characteristics with the language entry 'DE' and in the broadcast setting the language German is now available.

Have a nice week-end !

Hello,

Do you have the query's element in germany, as well?

Check the link below:

"Can I broadcast from one language (such as English) to other languages?

Yes. This assumes all language-relevant elements of the report have been maintained in the target language (such as texts and hierarchies). "

Also, these two notes could be useful:

> 745557 - Broadcast settings: Language dependency of texts

> 1013977 - Logon language for executing broadcast settings online

Kind regards,

Edward John
