Hi All -
I have two major challenges here at my client for implementing SAP.
1) Client manufactures cheese and we are planning to implement PP-PI. Here is the process flow at high level
Blending ---> Cooking -
> Packing
The above process is a continuous flow and has no cut-off points between cooking and packaging. Currently the legacy system is not strong enough to track and measure yield. There is a major requirement to create seperate process orders staring one from blending to cooking and other for packaging. The output of cooking process which they called bulk will feed into packaging line. The reason for seperate process orders could be to track, schedule cooking line and packaging line.
However, the output of cooking process cannot be measured until packaging process is completed. If we create seperate process order for bulk manufacturing ( blending to cooking) i cannot post yield / GR as there is no source to measure output from cooking operation. How can we handle this is SAP ? How do i calculate yield and close bulk process order?
2) The second issue what is have currently cheese is manufactured and packedin cases and the cases go into pallet. When there is a recall system should able to track at case level. This drives me to perform goods receipt for every case which is extremely difficult as there are thousands of cases manufactured perday.
The possible solution which come to my mind is to implement SAP Handling units management which is again a monster job to perform. Please advice how these scenarios could be handled.
Many thanks for the support.
Regards
