Hi I'm getting this error when I right click some BI queries data store and go to Query Wizard.

Is there something wrong when first creating the Bi Query datastore? Or is the BI Query not understanding some kind of sample value?

It was a bug, and fixed after an sp upgrade. It was not happening after the sp upgrade. We are currently on CE 7.1 sp 4

This seems to be a bug.

With lots of testing I found that if I used the search feature on the (my setup) right side of VC, there isn't a problem with revisiting the BI Query object by right click and going to Query Wizard.

However if I create the BI Query object using the BI Services menu item at the top of VC, the Query cannot be revised by right clicking on the Bi Query object and going to Query Wizard. It bombs out with the error "Error when checking variable Values (after applying sample values)".

I would like an answer as to why this is happening. I'm just glad I have a way to get around it now. It would be good if this can be fixed because some queries are combo queries, with a read then write object that is created in VC when using BI Services. If you use search then drag the query into the editor plain it doesn't generate the write query. In this case I still have to use BI Services and therefore both queries cannot be revised by Query Wizard.
