Factory Calendar in SRM

Former Member

Hi Expers,

We want to use Factory Calender in SRM and use it in SC and PO delivery date.

We defined a new Factory Calendar and assigned the holidays we need.

1. We want to use OUR factory calendar and not the standard calendar.

Do we have to activate our factory calendar? How can we do it?

2. We want the delivery dates in SC and PO creation to be effected by the factory calendar, So the user won't be able to choose a holiday day as delivery date. Where should we define it?

Thanks & regards,

Keren

HI

It does not work as you expect since indeed we dont maintain plant data like ECC. We just pull the data from ECC and make a reference in SRM as a Business partner and enjoy the plant in SRM . do you know we even dont maintain plant price in SRM . It could be a design and architecture of issue of SRM on plant price. Still SAP research team might work on this development in coming future whatever ECC system has the same feature procurement in SRM too.

Moreover calenders are used for planiing too. check BP transaction , i have seen some where to maintain some calenders of Vendor holidays etc.

if you were refering any contract on Purchase order . it will override and delivery date picks from the contract to the Purchase order.

HI,

Thanks for the answers.

I understood that it doesn't work as in the ECC. So we do not need to maintain plant data like ECC.

But I stil did not undestand how the system know with which calendar to work with.

The standard Factory Calendar is IL while our Factory Calendar is ZI - Where do we define that we want to use ZI calendar?

Do we define it only in the BBP_CHANGE_DEFAULT ?

I checked BP transaction but I didn't find where to maintain calender of Vendor holidays - ??

Thanks & Best regards,

Muthu thanks you for the information !

One more thing, if we choose not to define the FC in BP transaction, do we have to define the FC in BBP_CHANGE_DEFAULT ?

Thanks & regards

It is your wish

if you want a default delivery date for all SC /PO - You can go BADI default.

or

If you want use FC in BP - upon every vendor it might changed.

I define the FC and Business hours in the BP of the Location (Plant in SRM).

But the user still can pick non-working day as delivery date during SC creation.

Is another definition missing?

Thanks,

Hi

you must check while PO creation whether your settings are wrong or not.

by the way what is your source of supply ?

But the user still can pick non-working day as delivery date during SC creation.

Neither SRM or ECC enforces delivery date to be on a working day. If you want to restrict it, you could implement BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI and write a check specifically for that purpose.

Thanks, we did not know that neither SRM or ECC enforces delivery date to be on a working day.

We work with contracts as source of supply.

Hi,

For 2, you can use one of BADI.

BBP_CHANGE_DEFAULT

BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI

BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI

Keren,

You define your calendar in SCAL. Choose Factory Calendar, click on the pencil, at the next screen click on Create, then define how you want your calendar to run, give it an ID and description, workdays, you can use the Special Rules section here as well. Once this has been all defined per your specifications you then transport it to your QAS and PRD systems and this will be the calendar that will be recognized by SAP. Hope this helps !!
