You need not create a partner profile for an RFC call.
Just create an RFC destination with SM59, that is all.

Hi
You dont need partner profile for RFC scenarios.
Partner profiles are used for IDOC scenarios.
For RFC to file scenario,
1. create remote enabled a Functional module in R/3 used ot send data to PI
2. create RFC destination of type T in R/3. You will need to mention program iD in the destination which should be same as
Program ID mentioned In sender RFC channel.
Configuration of receiver file channel is quite simple

Deepak.

Hi,
Just to add with Stephen when you use RFC as a sender you nee to take into account some special things as Program ID and the connection type as type T (TCP/IP) while creating the connection(SM59)
The program ID must be the same as RFC adapter.
User needs authority to read meta data.
cheers,
Abhishek.
