Stock Postings ?

HI,

We need to carry out some stock management we would like to change all the codes of the items in the system to create a more logical coding that will help the stock management.

How can we move the stock from one item to another? Would using Stock Postings be the best way ?

Thank you very much for your answers.

IWe have tried to make a test and using the Stock/Inventory Posting transaction is going to create only a Journal Entry.

Apart from printing off the stock postings window before updating we cannot check what changes have been done.

Wouldnu2019t be better to do a Goods issue or goods receipt so that we have track of all the adjustments we have done?

Both ways can do the job. However, only the second i.e. Goods Issue/Receipts could give you transparent records.

Hi Matthew ,

Yoou can use the functionality of

Inventory Tracking And Stock Posting

Just track the stock of the Old Item and Post them with the new Item !

Hi,

I am not sure, but I think the Changer Add-on will be able to change the Item codes if there are transactions against those items.
