Unable to import a user using Import Wizard in Business Objects XI 3.1

I am using the Import Wizard to import users from BO XI Release 2 to BO XI 3.1 to prepare the server for migration.

I tried to import only one user but it did not import it. Instead it gave me the following error when I viewed the log:

Committing the export object to the destination CMS failed. Reason: Failed to commit objects to server

Is this an enteprrise or an external (WIndows AD, LDAP, SAP) user?

Are you doing this with an administrator account? other? Is the user concurrent or named? Make sure your license types match (named cannot be imported to concurrent and vice versa).

I'm trying to imports users using the Administrator account.

Users that I am trying to import are Concurrent Users in our Business Objects XI R2 server. You can change the type of user to Named User. However, users are Named Users in Business Objects XI 3.1 and you can not change the type of user (radio button is greyed out). Is this what you are asking?

Yep if concurrent users are greyed out then your XI 3.x license does not support them thus the error (since you stated that the users are concurrent in XIR2.

According to this KB 1330294 - Import wizard fails to import users you may need to change existing users to named to be able to import them.
