Creating Contract with dummy material which we don't want copied

Hi,

We have a situation where we wish to use a contract so as to set the partners for susequent orders for a Customer.

(The customer has many ship-to's and many specal defined partners (their customers) of which we want only one of each for a construction project)

The pricing of materials is performed on Product hierarchy via sales deals and actual sales line items are unknown until the creation of the sales order with reference to the contract.

We therefore are creating a contract with a dummy material (you cannot create the contract without this material) and unfortunately this is copied into the subsequent orders.

My question is, is there anyway apart from the Customer services department flagging the item for deletion to create the order without the material from the contract.

    Hi,

It sounds weird why you would not want the item copied into subsequent Orders. Probably is the nature of the business that you are facing.

For your queries, in VTAA copy control, in the entry of Source doc (Contract) to Target doc (Order) and the ItemCategory used, you may want to change your Copying Requirement routine from "303" (Standard - Always an Item) to "302" (Do Not Copy Item)..

This way, it will not copy the item of your Contract to the subsequent Order.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Rgds.
