INCREASING FIELD SIZE

HI,

PLEASE ADVICE ME ON WHAT TO DO IN A SITUATION WHERE CARE IS NOT TAKEN TO LOGICALLY DEFINE THE CHARACTER SIZE OF CERTAIN FIELDS IN SBO.

TO BE SPECIFIC E.G. (IN THE LENGTH AND WIDTH UoM) SCREEN I CAN SPECIFY THE VOLUME CODE FOR METER AS m^3.

BUT WHAT WAS THOUGHT-OFF ABOUT THE VOLUME CODE FOR THE CUBE OF A DECIMETER.

THE LIMIT IS ONLY THREE CHARCTERS.

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION- I HAVE READ OTHER SIMILAR THREADS...

Hi Jimmy,

First of all, please stop using all capital. It is not polite just like shouting.

As for the UoM, that field is actually a numerical field link to OLGH table. You only need to show 3 character coding. It will not be difficult to assign long name for that table. The setup is under Admin - Setup - Inventory - Length and Width UoM - Setup

Thanks,

Hi jimmy !

I like to tell you that this code field is rigid with 2 char .

One need to specify code only for primary key of the table which is identical , not for their understanding . The proper understanding for the same there provided a field Unit Name (As description ) .

Thanks

THANKS FOR REPLYING

I WAS NOT TALKING OF THE CODE, AS YOU SAID THEAT IS FIXED AS 2 CHARACTERS. I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRIMARY KEY.

I AM TALKING ABOUT THE VOLUME CODE WHICH IS SET TO THREE CHARACTER WHICH IS VISIBLE IN THE ROWS OF THE MARKETING DOCS OR THE ITEM MASTER DATA.
