system copy procedure

hi all ,

from the demo available in SDN ,i could understand that we need to run sapinst on source system and export the data .

but my doubt is how should i make ready my target system before importing ,

do i need to first put OS , DB and then import the exporetd SAP files (or) what is the exact things i should do ?

how about the host name and dbSID of target system ? how to set all those ?

please guide me the exact instruction on doing the hetrogeneous system copy
