How to install portal on Netweaver 04 WebAS SP16 ?

Hello SDNers,

We need to have Enterprise Portal installed on our NetWeaver 04 WebAS Java SP 16.

The following is our setup:

1. WebAS SP09 was installed without Enterprise Portal SP09.

2. Patch upgrade applied on WebAS from SP09 to SP16.

Now is it possible to install Enterprise Portal SP09 on this WebAS SP16 single instance ?

Can we then apply patch upgrade to EP from SP09 to SP16 ?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi Uday,

Start SAPinst and choose the option for installation of EP (sapinst -> Netweaver Components Running on Java -> Portal -> Portal Installation). It will automatically runs the System Analyzer to check if all the requirements are met.

This will look for the existing WebAS Java system and if there are any issues with the java stack, sapinst will inform you before installing EP.

Further, after this is completed, you can apply the EP patches from sP09 onwards till the required level and it should be fine.

We were able to install Enterprise Portal 6.0 base patch 9 and then upgrade to SP 21.
