Dear Guru's

when im changing deprecation keys (from WDV[MB05] to SLM )iam getting error"Enter a depreciation key with 'depreciation by days' such as MB05"

and message

Depreciation key MB05 should no longer be changed (Please check)

Message no. AA191

Diagnosis

You changed depreciation key MB05. The asset has been posted to already. As a result of changing the depreciation key, the planned depreciation in open fiscal years will be recalculated.

System Response

The system automatically starts the depreciation recalculation.

Procedure

1. Check the change to the depreciation key again.

2. Confirm you want to make the change by pressing ENTER.

your guidance is required to handle this risky situation.

regards

After creation of new dep keys for SLM ,please assign in you master records,

No configuration is required.

After that run AFAR- Recalculate depreciation.

If you want to post any manual entries or transfer entries use OASV t.code.here you can post without removing recon accounts.

If required you can use FB01 also

Hi ANJIREDDYA

AFAR- Recalculate depreciation

Will have effect from date of change in depreciation method (prospective effect) or it will change from beginning ie (retrospective) effect ?

Hi Deepak,

Neither option applies. AFAR will recalculate all open year(s). To post the difference you will have to do a repeat run in the last posted period of the corresponding years. Closed years will not be affected at all.

Kind regards

It is having prospective effect.

For the retrospective effect you need to do unplanned postings, write ups
