Last version of report is deleted while uploading new version.

Hi,

We are attaching report to specification. For a particular type of generation variant, when we try to upload a new verion, deletion indicator for the last verion of the report is automatically set. For all other generation variant everything is fine.

We want to know if this is a customizing issue. If yes please provide path/transaction.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Mandeep

Hello Mandeep

using the generation variant you can define if there is a "versioning" required in report handling or not. I have only experience with the fact that this flag is set. My expectation would be that if you do not "flag" this in the generation variant that the former report will be "deleted" and the new report will be inserted.

My assumption is that the SAP system will store the history. That means the old report will stay in the document management system and will be related to the specification (in combination with genvariant and language) but that simply the "del" flag in the corresponding table is set (so this report is not available any more from user perspective). The new report will be generated (either by user in the system or using the import process) and therefore a new document will be stored in DMS. This document will be linked to the specification using the same genvariant/language/status information as the former report.

So my recommendation would be: compare the generation variants and the settings there in.

With best regards

C.B.

Hi Christoph,

Setting the Version requirement indicator in CG2B solves the issue.

Many thanks for the help.
