BPM and Workflow for SRM 7

Former Member

Hi

Does anyone know if BPM (Business Process Management) supports SRM and specifically SRM 7.0?

Is it possible to create the workflow in BPM and then transfer it to SRM 7? Will that work flow be a "developed" workflow from SRM point of view?

Sincerely

Anders

Hi,

Yes, it is possible. SRM has several ESOA interfaces. What is your business scenario and business processes?

Hi Masa

We have a couple of workflows dependent on value and product category. We are in classic scenario using SRM 7. We would like to develop these workflows using BPM instead of develping/configuring them directly in SRM.

Hi,

Is there any business reason that you do not use SRM workflow?

I think using SRM workflow is low TCO and a kind of out of the box solution.

If many legacy systems need to be integrated, I might use BPM.

They will probably be using BPM for developing workflows in MDM etc. So thats why we have been looking at using it for SRM as well. Especially if we would have to develop them in SRM... then we might as well creat them in BPM instead.

How does the fucnionality work? Don't you transfer the workflow from BPM into SRM? How does the process work?

Sincerely

Anders

Hi,

In that case, I would use BPM for MDM and SRM workflow for SRM document approval.

For SRM ESOA, please visit ES Workplace.
