SU25 - Step 1 (Intial Fill )activate Icon does not change even after the step execution

Dear Security community,

Ours is new S4HANA 1709 installation. After reading all the information regarding relation between SU22,SU24 and SU25, I have executed the Step 1( Initial fill of customer tables) in TC : SU25 by directly clicking on the Step 1 in SU25.However, the log report summary was empty and step name did not changed to 'Performed' (see below).

In the next attempt, instead of directly clicking on the Step name, I executed the Step 1 from the menu :Profile Generator -> Step 1. After the completion of step execution, the log(see below) was displayed and the auth objects for certain transactions were listed in SU24 which was not the case before the execution of Step 1 in SU25.

However, when I navigate back from Log summary screen to main screen of SU25 (or) opening the SU25 again, the step 1 still displays the 'Activate' Icon instead of 'Display' Icon and the step description is still ' Initially fill the customer tables' instead of 'Initial fill of customer tables was performed'.

Since I am new to Security area as ours is a small organisation with no clear distinctions between technical areas, I am not sure whether I have done any mistake (or) is this actually an issue with just the display of icons.

There are also entries in USOBT_C and USOBX_C.Is there any other way to ensure whether this step was executed without any issues ?

Answer from SAP :

The 'activate' Icon was chosen to be used for step 1 in su25. The icon is hardcoded for this step and does not change due to the execution of the step. Same for the other icons, for instance, the transport icon will not change after you have used the transport function in su25.

If the time stamp for step 1 was set successfully, the hierarchy is rebuilt with the date of the execution.

Now if you run step 2a and 2b , the icon will be changed to the goggles and the text will change to 'Customer tables was filled initially'.

This is to avoid an accidental repeat of step 1 in case step 2a/2b have been used already, i.e. su24 data has been probably changed by the admin already. In this case step 1 can be reached only through the menu in su25.

But if you use only step 1, the icon will not change .

Hello Karthik,

When there are entries in tables USOBT_C and USOBX_C you need not worry. Just ensure that the customer tables are transported by executing the 3rd step of SU25. We are also on S4 HANA 1709 version and is a fresh system. Even after executing the first step, it still shows the activate icon. But it shows the last successful execution time, date and user which means this step is done.
