RFC error while connecting to a non-unicode system

Dear Experts,

We are trying to connect to a BI 7.0 server (non-unicode) from MS-EXCEL using the SAP BW OLE DB adapter. We are getting an error while doing the connection test, " Cannot process Unicode RFC in non-unicode system". We checked the OSS Note : 875767, but it did not solve the purpose. How do we edit the properties of the RFC connection (so as to enable it for non-unicode)? Has anyone faced this issue earlier? If yes, please let us know how you have solved it. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Basker

I need access to that note, but the link that I found ask for a user and password.

What do I need to do?

Thank you!

Hi,

you need to have a valid Service Marketplace user.

Then you should be able to logon to

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1173537

Hi,

I have the same problem. I cannot read the note while I'm a valid Service Market user. The system responds: The requested SAP Note is either in reworking or is released internally only. 😉
