segment reporting..

Hi Experts,

In SAP Segment reporting gives a special future in NEW GL,Segment reporting will be going with some Accounting Principles (IFRS , US GAAP).

My question is. ..

we can apply IFRS or US GAAP by maintaining the Ledgers ( Leading or Non- leading )

why do we want to go Segment reporting since that can be done with Parallel accounting.

Thanks in advance

Jerry

    HI,

Yes. Of course...this is the correct way.

why do we want to go Segment reporting since that can be done with Parallel accounting.

Segment reporting is not like accounting principle reporting...it means divisions of your business which can be based on Product line or Locations of your company. Moreover segment reporting is mandatory under IFRS.

      Hi

We are in a Blue Print phase. I will going to create four profit centers. I will going to create one Segment and will going to assign one profit center. Now If in future, If I need to change segment as per the IFRS Segment reporting requirement then how I will change the same in future ? I do not want to create new profit center with new segment.
