Control indicators for controlling area XXX do not exist

Hi folks:

I'm having a real issue regarding the error message in the title. If I should be in a different forum, would someone tell me and I'll bo there.

I'm doing a simply G/L posting (specificallly BPI1 Exercise 41) and get the message. Control indicators for controlling area XXX do not exist.

There was a lot of traffic last February on this, and I'v tried the solutions there to no avail. Those cebtered ib OKKP and MMPV.

I went back to the creation of the controlling area ((BPI2 Exercise 1), Assignment of the controlling area to the company code (BPI2 Exercise 2);, and entered the details for te controlling area (BPI1 Exercise and initialized the fiscal period for the company code (BPI1 Exercise 65). If you're wondering why BPI1 and BPI2 interchange, its becasue we've done an integratin of the two as part of a larger re-write of BPI.

I've also checked the definition of the fiscal period variant (BPI1 Exercise 71) and checked the opening and closing period (BPI1 Exercise 72)

Using OKKP and the "activate components" tab, I have absolutely no components listed to activate.

Using MMPV, I set the closing period to the next period (since this is 30 Apr, I used "5") and fiscal year 2010. This generate a small report which states that "Company XXX has been converted".

All to no avail. I've spoken to local folks who just can't figure it out either. I'd be grateful for some help.

Many thanks, Dave Russell

Control indicators for controlling area XXX do not exist.

Go to OKKP where select your controlling area and double click on Activate Components / Control Indicators and Activate for the current year. Also go to o02k and maintain the Period Indicator

Update the forum if this has not solved your issue.

thanks
