Hello,
We have a unique (atleast i felt it) landscape where we have 2 Prod PI system. We have divided out interfaces logically into 2 categories and they will run on the respective prod system. Both this prod have its own SLD and hence there is no issue here.
The issue is with the Pre-Prod where like prod we have 2 PI systems (and 2 integration servers) but they both share the same SLD. We have only one SAP R/3 backend system and hence we have only one technical system in the SLD but this SAP R/3 system has to connect to both the Pre-prod systems for different interfaces. For this to happen we have to create 2 Business systems with the respective PI pre-prod Integration Server. But SLD doesnt allow to create 2 business systems for the same technical systems.
Is there any way around this as we cannot change the SAP R/3 system and also cant have different client in R/3 for each of PI Pre prod.
This is a major roadblock and requires your expert advice on how to proceed in this scenario.
Regards,
Yash
according to my knowledge , in the company all the systems(development , quality, production) can be configured in one SLD only, SLD is common for all the systems.
Technical system is nothing but it is physical character stics of your system.one Application wil have ony one technical system is available.
Business system is nothing but it is a logicol view of u r technical system. so one Technical system wil have any number of business systems are available.

It is not possible to have multiple BS for the same TS in the same SLD. We went with a different solution - having multiple SLD.

Dear Yash,
The difference between business system and technical system is that business system is technical system along with client no.
Having said that, I am not sure I have understood your problem properly. You said you want to create 2 business systems. If both of these business systems referring to the same client in the same technical system, then there shouldn't be a need to create 2 different business systems. And if the business systems are a different combination of technical system and client, then there shouldn't be a problem creating them as this is perfectly alright.
Maybe I've not clearly understood your problem. Can u give more details like technical system, and business system names required along with the various SIDs? Maybe I can spot something there.
Thanks,
Shitij

Shitij,
You are correct in understanding that the requirement is to create 2 business systems for the same technical system with same SID (S*1) and same client.
The reason i need this is because I have 2 PI system P1 and P2 with 2 different integration server which share the same SLD. Now when i create a business system for S1 i specific the inegration server for P1 and add this business system in the transport target for P*1.
How will i do the same for P2? I cannot create a new business system for S1 with integration server of P2 and add it in the transport target for P2. If i dont do it i cannot do any transports as it will give error like no Business system found in SLD.
Hope i made it clear.
Yash
Well Yash,
This really is a tough situation and I am not sure I can be of more help to you, other than to suggest you to use 2 separate SLDs, one on each PI. Any major reason for using only one SLD?
Also, again I am not sure of this option as well, but try and see if you can take advantage of the Landscape feature on the SLD. See if you can create 2 landscapes in the SLD and try to do something from there.
Can't suggest anything more buddy, that's all I can think of.
Best Regards,
Shitij
DId you tried creating another technical system with the same details....
just check this out....
