Document Viewer and XML Stylesheet

Hi,

We have an XML file (=invoice "image") attached to an invoice document in SAP. The attachment has been attached into a content repository (typical ArchiveLink scenario). The XML contains a link to a style sheet.

When we open the XML from our desktop computers, everything is working fine - the XML is displayed nicely in a browser - and with the style sheet. Anyhow, when we try to open the XML from SAP GUI (from the generic object services attachment list), the browser is started in Document Viewer (inside SAP GUI). Now the browser cannot access the style sheet, and we get the following error:

--

The XML page cannot be displayed

Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Access is denied. Error processing resource

How is this possible? Why doesn't the browser work correctly from the Document Viewer? Is there something we can do? Any suggestions?

Regards,

Karri

Hello Karri,

We are having the same issue. Could you please let us know of how you resolved this issue. I would appreciate your help.

Hi Gopal,

Actually this has not yet been solved. We found out that a user who has IXOS viewer (we have IXOS/OpenText as archiving solution) installed in her laptop was able to dislay the XML image without problems. So I assumed that this is enough, I was just missing the installation. But when I got the viewer installed, I wasn't able to display the file (I got the same error). Also, it seemed that also the user who got it working, was not able to display the files in all environments.

This issue has been on hold due to project scheduling issues, so I haven't had time to really dig into the problem. I will most likely investigate this again pretty soon, but until that I cannot help much. If you find out how to solve the problem, please let me know. I will also keep this thread alive and post here my findings.

Regards,

Karri
