Need help

Can anyone supply me installation manual of NWDS

Do we need to install NWDS at all client machines or do we need to do this installation on servers or on both

Can this installation support remote database which resides on other server somewhere else in the domain

Thanks in advance

    Hi R S

Please refer to [SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio|SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.1 Overview], Here you can find installation guides and other information about SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS).

    Also refer to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/cb/f4bc3d42f46c33e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm

You do not require to install at all client machines nor server.

Yes, it support remote database, You can connect to remote server/databse from NWDS.

NWDS should install on Developer machine or who devloping SAP NetWeaver applications.

    Hope it helps

Please let me know if this statement is true..

NWDI is a client software and does not need database.....SAP WAS JAVA, we can install on any one development server and which need database..Is this a true statement?

    Thanks.

    For future search:

    - if you have the scenario, that you have only NWDS on client side, and you don't test locally on client side, then of course there's no need for DB on client side, only the server side J2EE engine uses its DB (where you deploy centrally - "via NWDI").

    - if you have local j2ee engine too (see Developer Workplace Installation) where you test your changes locally before checkin then of course that local j2ee engine will use its locally installed DB (coming with DWI installation), and you still deploy to the central j2ee server (which of course has its own DB) as mentioned in the previous point.

    Best Regards,

    Ervin
