Hi Guys,
I am going to use CLM CLI to do full system promotion from the source BO 4.2 sp4 system to the target BO 4.2 sp6 system. I am referring two documents. One is the LCM pattern book and the other is the BO administrator guide.
I have two questions.
1. Can the objects be reverse or overwritten? In LCM pattern book, it says we can promote a few objects, e.g. 100, to take a test. So, it means that in the real promotion we can move 10000 objects that include the previous 100 objects.
2. In the administrator guide, it said we should separate the objects in 3 jobs. One for users and groups, one for dependents objects and one for primary objects. But, how can I know the numbers of the objects in the last two jobs? In the following link, it says how to browse CMS. But, still I don't know how to calculate the dependent objects and primary objects.

Thanks
Steven
Just to add to other answers, you can also get a good idea of object counts from the CMC.
For eg: you can see get the total usergroups and users, number of folders and objects, and also dependents like universe folders/universes/connections from CMC. CMS metrics will also give you some idea but BIPST probably gives it all in a simple tab.

You can also BISupport tool to get the list and count of objects.

1. yes, it overwrites previously moved objects
2. See pattern book, you can run queries in AdminTools to see how many objects they return before migration.
