We are currently experiencing an issue whereby we can't seem to trace or stop emails being sent out. There were 355 emails sent out before I deleted them. The emails are being sent out every 5 minutes from WF-BATCH. I've found no jobs that are created by WF-BATCH in SM37 that could have triggered such an event. Is there a transaction code where I can check emails are generated by a certain user ID? Or is there somewhere I can check to see the source of where an email is being sent from when checked in SOST?
Thanks.
If you are sure that the sent user is WF-BATCH then you can find a respective workitem in the workflow log. Try to navigate to the Txn SWI1 and check what is the workitem which is getting triggered ir started for every 5 minutes. And through that workitem ID you can find the workflow template and try to deactiavte any start events with respect to the dertermined workflow temaplte....

We couldn't figure out where the source was coming from and how it was being triggered. In the end, we just locked WF-BATCH and the problem stopped.
Thanks for the help, guys.

If you just want to stop the mails being sent for now, go to transaction SOST, and select Utilities > Send Jobs from the menu. A window will open, and you will see the scheduled background job that is sending the mail to your mail server. You can then either turn the job off, or delete it completely.
Obviously this won't stop the mails being generated, but at least they won't go anywhere for now.
Out of interest, what do the messages say? It may give us some idea what is generating them...

Hi JA,
presume its messages that are sent out of SAP and not workitems.
Either way check jobs with program names RSCONN01 or RSWUWFML2, because RSCONN01 is the program which sends messages outside SAP.
Hope it helps.

Hi Mike.
That's my last ditch plan. Even SAP hasn't given me much helpful info. I'll just reschedule the jobs accordingly when worse comes to worst. Thanks.

The job doesn't necessarily have to be scheduled by WF-BATCH, so you need to cast your net a little wider. What sort of mails are these? Missed deadlines or "You have new work items" are common system-generated mails.
Unfortunately there is no direct route to trace back from SOST.

Hi Pavan,
Thanks for the tip. I checked in SWI1 but when I executed it, nothing came out. I'm trying to find out the source of this but I've exhausted all my knowledge. I even changed WF-BATCH from SYSTEM to DIALOG, explored SBWP but could not find anything where I could say "STOP!"
Is there a way of stopping such emails/workflows from being triggered in the first place?
