SAP B1 Browser Access not closing idle sessions

We are on SAP B1 9.3 PL08 and have Browser Access deployed (based on 32 bit client).

However, we are having an issue with it constantly having an issue where we reach the maximum number of connected clients (as specified in the SLD Browser Access) being reached.

The problem is that the maximum number of processes is 30, and we only have 10 users. So under no circumstances should we be reaching that maximum?

Looking at the catalina logs I see errors like:

"The web application [/dispatcher] appears to have started a thread named [pool-2-thread-8] but has failed to stop it. This is very likely to create a memory leak."

Is there a way to troubleshoot this?

Is this really solved in SBO 9.3 PL 09?

There is indeed note 2727307 - SAP Business One Browser Access Server Reaches Max Limit of Sessions that should be referenced in note 2728626 - Overview Note for SAP Business One 9.3 PL09 but it is not referenced in the last note.

Will, did you find a solution to this?

Yes we opened an incident with SAP and it has been resolved as on 9.3 PL09.

You can see the note here: 2727307 https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2727307

I have been searching for a solution. The temporary workaround is to set up a task in Task Scheduler to automatically restart the Browser Access Server Gatekeeper service nightly. This is an issue in 9.2 HANA as well.

I've been doing a lot of testing over the last few days on this the process does close when someone successfully log out of the browser access. However, if their session is hung, it won't close it out.

I am not sure if this is a bug in the SAP software or something in the Tomcat server that runs the browser access.

Our client is currently on 9.3 PL06 HANA, and since you're on PL08, it seems this issue is still present.

That is basically what we have to do; a task resets the BAS Gatekeeper on a schedule. This isn't ideal though since it causes interruptions for users who are logged in when it is reset.

We are experiencing the same issue. We have users who access B1 through the browser access through iPads on the field. I see users whose session was disconnected for one reason or another, but the BAS Gatekeeper service doesn't kill them.

Ok, glad to know it isn't just me. If you find any solution please let me know.

This just says to kill the processes manually, surely there has to be a better way?

Achala,

This doesn't help as this applies to an earlier release of Business One. Will is on 9.3 PL08, and they removed the "Kill" button the service monitor back in 9.2 PL04 or PL06.

sometimes session is closed but connection between service remains you can restart services or increase limit to 100

That doesn't help much. Yes the workaround is to restart the browser access service nightly (which is what we do), but it's just a band-aid--so to speak. There is an underlying issue that causes the program to not terminate processes that have been idle for period of time.
