Back Up for BO for Production environment

Hi,

We are creating Webi reports from universes based on Bex Queries.

We want to take the Back Up for our Production environment on daily basis. Currently, we take the back up as BIAR file thru import wizard. Is there any other much effective mechanism to take the Back up of BO end.

Version being Used: SAP BO Edge Series XI 3.1

Platform:Red Hat Linux

Hi Akhil,

BIAR files can only be used as a quick way to archive your contents. It is not very reliable (I learned it the hard way and got burned before) and should not be your primary method of backup and recovery.

The preferred method is a synchronized backup of the system database (some call it CMS database) and the Input/Output FRS. You can talk to your DBA and your network admin to schedule such backup around midnight when there is no activity.
