MIC delete

Hi,

1) I want to delete MIC , results are recorded for this MIC's so Cancel the inspection lot , removed the MIC from inspection plan still when i am going to delete MIC by t-code QS25 or QS23 system giving me date error but i tried by key date also then also same problem .

2) I want to delete MIC which are not used in any plan or inspection lot still same problem.

pls guide me whats the issue for above two condition.

Is MIC of reference copy model type?

no its Incomplete copy model.

Then as per my knowledge deletion & central replacement is not possible for incomplete copy model.

check the 3rd point.If it is the 3rd case, change status of mic as "can no longer be used".

Hi All,

what I observed is if MIC is not used anywhere means u created MIC & immediately if u delete that one then its possible to delete but once u used in Plan & u removed from plan then also its not possible to delete MIC .

hi shiv,

though you have removed it from plan but still it is in use in the system in the inspection lots.so in this case, follow the prcedure suggested by me earlier i.e. change the status to "can no longer be used".

I canceled the inspection lot,change the status still system not allowed to delete MIC.

hi,

i dont think once it is used somewhere then it will allow to delete the mic though you have cancelled the lot.why dont you follow the other procedure i.e. change the status to "can no longer be used".

My purpose for delete MIC is , MIC are created by wrong valid date & i want to create same MIC with new valid date after deletion. changing just status not solves my problem.

hi,

for this instead of deleting the mic, you can create new version of mic with qs22.here you change the valid from date.

Ok but we need to cross check this thing now that , it creates any problem while flowing results in report boz system found two MIC of same name.

Hi Shiv,

If this MIC is used somewhere and from today if you dont want to use it, go to qs23 and set the status of mic as "can no longer be used" instead of release.

if mic is no where used, delete it with qs25.

Still getting the error, pls tell me what error you are getting at which stage/

Hi Shiv,

you will get this message in 3 cases -

1. The master inspection characteristic has not been created

2. You do not have authorization to edit the master inspection

characteristic

3. The master inspection characteristic is being used/has been used and

cannot therefore be deleted.

Check these things, specially 2nd and 3rd point.
