good morning,
in my company workstations the SAPGUI 7.10 for windows was installed from an installation server. I have now the
7.20 GUI CD and I wonder if I can create a new installation server in the some server/share and update the
workstations from this new 7.20 installation server.
Will the 7.20 installation program detect the upgrade, remove the 7.10 components properly and install the 7.20
new version in the client workstations?
Is this a good approach, or is better create a new Instalation server for the new version (7.20) and upgrade
the clients from here? This options seems more "clean", but needs more work.
Thank you by your opinions
Best regards
Hello Paulo,
I tried exacly this in a development environment. If you create a installation server 7.20 in the directory of your 7.10 the clients will get an upgrade to 7.20. I would recommend that you will try this in your own development environment. If you use the old directory or if you create a new one next to the old has to be your choise. I can not give advice. It depends also to your companys decision.
Best regards.
