Planned Order taking 6 months

Hi Experts,

I'm facing an issue wherein for a material/plant Planned Orders are taking more than 6 months time between the Order start date & finish.

Ideally it should have been 1 or 2 months.

The Planned Orders are created based on a contract(VA43).

The settings in Routing are fine & the capacity utlilization too seems to be ok.

Could you help in finding any other settings which i need to check.

thanks in advance,

rishi

Dear,

1. First check the formulas in Work center

2. Update Material Master data with routing data with CA97 -t-code

it will work fine.

Hi Ravi,

Thanks for your reply.

Few inputs viz.

(i)What does transaction CA97 actaully do? why it is required to be executed.

(ii)Also,i need to see whether any change in work centre time or capacity allocation was done. How i can see whether any such change was made in the Master Data.

Hi Rishi,

1. Transaction CA97 takes scheduling data from routings and updates in the material master record.

With this the MRP2 view field Scheduling "In-house production" gets updated from the data in the routing.

There is an indicator availble ( option) in this transaction whether to update the material master record directly or to write scheduling results in a temporary file. You can update the material master from this file at a later time.

2. Please check CR10 transaction for Change documents for work centers and CA61 transaction for change documents for routing changes

Please check if this helps you.

Dear Datta,

Thanks for the indelible inputs.

One final question:- Now, the Order start dates & Order finish dates have been generated in MD04.

If i need to know how the system have arrived to those dates, exactly wherein i need to check the settings to arrive to those dates.(if i need to matematically calculate on how those dates were arrived at by the system)

Thanks/regards,

Rishi

Dear Rishi,

1) For ROH materials you need to check PR processing time , Planed delivery time & GR Processing time

2) For SFG & FG check in-house production time, GR processing time & if mainatined floats

then check Schedule margin Key

Based on above inputs MRP does Scheduling & Gives dates

Rishi,

MRP always use the time you assign in your material master ( inhouse production time , and floats from scheduling marginal key) untill and unless you use lead time scheduling during MRP run.

by using lead time scheduling you can use routing timings for calculation of basic dates.

1. First check what is the required delivery date in the contract?

2. check for the capacity setting inall the work center

3. Check the planned delivery time / GR processing time etc.

4. Check for the scheudle margin key

Above are the few settings that influences the same.

check and revert back on each itme
