Resume a client copy

Hello,

if started a client copy after a system copy and in rz04 there was no instance and wp/batch config active.

When i started the cl copy the window of the parallel processes was on "5" but the field was grey (not active)

Now i checked the sm50 and there is just one btc process active/working for the cl copy.

Meanwhile i´ve did the configuration in rz04 an instance is active.

Is it possible to stop in sm37 the cl copy job and resume it after stopping?

Probably the cl job will catch 5 batch processes nowa after setting up the current instance in rz04.

Sincerely

Hello Martin,

Check SAPnote # 552711 point 11 and then SAPnote # 560552 which says :

A restart is only provided if the last copy had already reached the copy phase and was then terminated.

The restart collects all tables that have not yet been successfully copied (technical information: table CCSELTAB with STATUS field <> 'P') and then continues to behave exactly as the original copy was

expected to.

So, definately restart is possible.

Hi Niraj,

thanks for the info! The rz04 is well configured now (the sid of the hostname was wrong configured).

I´ve resumed the client copy with 5 parallel process but in sm50 and "topas" / unix there is still only 1 disp./work process active.

Searching on googel and service for "paralelle prozesse" (on german doesn´t finds informations on how to get the parallel processes running in a client copy.

Hi Martin,

Go to RZ12 and create log on group as Parallelgenerators and assign your instance with default values after that you can choose parallelgenerators group and no.of processe for client copy..hope it should resolve your issue.
