SAP Business By Design: Automatic Contract Invoice Scheduling

Dear All,

This is an issue in SAP Business By Design pertaining to customer contracts.

I need contract invoice scheduling to be renewed automatically when the contracts are also automatically renewed. However, this is not happening.

For eg. a contract M1149 has its invoice scheduled till February 2019. However, when the contract renewed automatically and the end date changed to March 2020, the invoice schedules were not renewed.

To solve the issue, if I create next line item for the same item, but with the renewed contract period, this could solve my problem as the invoice schedules would be created for this line item.

Since there are more than 100 contracts with the same issue, I cannot go with manual creation of a different line item for every contract.

Therefore, I tried migrating it with the standard template for 'Migration of Customer Contracts' (Data migration activity in 'Integrate & Extend' phase), but it was not possible and I got the following error:

Error Message

1. Error detected in source record M1149.

2. ID already exists.

3. Determination of tax code failed.

4. Update in log in case of price adaption: M1149.

Therefore, I need a solution to migrate line items in their respective contracts.

And, it would be great if you can provide any other solution to resolve this base problem that the contract invoice schedules get renewed automatically when the contracts are also automatically renewed.

Regards,

Romik

Dear Romik,

It is possible, that either the value conversion of the values, or the source value in the columns maintained in the migration template, needs to be adjusted. That is where you are facing issues with Migration. Please re-check the template.

Hope, this helps.

Dear Romik,

Dear Christine,

if you renew an item in a contract via a renewal rule the system creates a new invoice schedule automatically for the new item. If this does not work correctly e.g. there is only one item which has the amount fixed, the other one is 0,00 and not editable. This can be due to the fact that the recurrence type is individual dates and for individual dates the system can't copy the dates as there is no pattern for it.
