MDVP checking

Hello Friend,

what options do we have with the configuration?i know in oppq we can set availability checking rule for entire plants

But my client wanted the different avail checks for different material at MDVP t-code.not for all orders. Is there a variant or profile or some other customization that we could do to use the different avail check on some occasions but not all?

Ravi,

Scope of check is determined by Availability Checking Group (shown as 'Availability check' in the Material master MRP3 tab) and by checking rule. Within scope of check there are a large selection of elements that can be included/excluded for ATP consideration.

Since you are talking about MDVP, I will assume you are talking only about planned orders (other availability checks are available for other documents and situations).

Materials within a plant can have different Availability Checking Group assigned to the Material in the Material Master. If the existing types of checks are inadequate, you can create additional custom availability checking groups in OVZ2.

In OPPJ, you can define different planned order Checking Rules for each plant or for each MRP group within a plant.

To accomplish your goal of 'different availability checks for different materials' during MDVP, you would normally assign different Availability checking groups in the Material Master.

Can you tell us exactly what the client wants? E.g., exactly what type of check under exactly which condition(s)? What are the different 'occasions' of which you speak?

Hi DB49,

My requirement is only for MDVP (planned orders). i have already defined different Availability checking group for ex Z1,Z2,Z3.

For hard stock materials i want to use Z1 and for greestock materials i want to use Z2 and for raw materials i want use Z3.

Can you please tell me any posiible solution.

Dear,

First create three different MRP groups in OPPJ or OPPR, you can define different checking rule for it then assign this MRP group in MRP1 view of material master. So system will check availability according to cheeking rule from MRP group and checking group in MRP 3 view.

Assign Z1, Z2, Z3 to the appropriate Material masters. MM02.

Am I missing something? You still haven't said the exact conditions under which you feel you need additional types of ATP checks. Can you elaborate?

Hi ,

My condition is i have assigned the checking group Z1 in MM02 for X material but when i am running the MDVP for the same material i want use Z2.

OK, it sounds like you are saying that you want 'something' to happen during MDVP for a given material/plant, that doesn't also happen at 'some other time'. Exactly what is it you want to be different, and what is the non-MDVP event from which you wish to see the differentiation?

As far as I can see there is no standard customizing to realize what you want, there is no place to specify the checking rule for certain material individually.
