We have a heavily manually controlled process when finished stock is found to require rework. This stock is set as blocked and only set to Unres. immediately before being reworked. Even though this is heavily manually controlled, there exists the theoretical possibility the stock could be allocated to a Sales Order.
How best and most efficiently to prevent even this small possibility ?
My thoughts are to have a rework material code and do a (Finished Goods) material to (Rework) material transfer. I like this because the rework material is 'technically' different to the Finished Goods, which is why it requires rework. It requires additional material and BOM but (I hope) it is foolproof.
Any ideas or thoughts on alternative solutions ?
