retro active salary computation of march 2010

Dear friends,

In our organisation salary is usually processed on 26th of every month.

Similarly for March, salary was processed on 26th and posted on same day. An employee was hired on on 31st of March. Now when salary is being processed for April 10 (new fiscal year), we are encountering an error as "No Payroll results available for 12th period of 2009 for employee 703581".

Normally in other cases, salary for the balance days of previous period (after 26th salary processing of previous period) is calculated as arrears in the current period salary.

Could you pl proivde your inputs as to why I am getting this error now.

Thanks for your reply. We will follow the process.

I need to clarify one thing. Retroactive salary accounting is possible when it happens in case of periods within same fiscal year, for ex. if an employee is hired on 27th September 2009 and when salary is processed for October 2009, retroactive salary of september is captured as arrears in October Salary. In this case, is it not happening as because march falls in a different fiscal year and april in another?? Pl confirm.

Hi Amitava,

You can change the date of hiring to 01-04-2010 and run payroll from first payroll period of next fiscal year i.e. April 2010.

That one day salary you pay him through 14 Infotype.

I think you can do it in this way.
