Hi SChand,

You may refer to the Wiki [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Change_control] for reference so that you get fair idea of it.

I am sure your project would have such process documented in brief. Please ask fo rit.

Hi,

A CR may be related to modifying a report, Creating a new report, Or Changing existing Data model to accommodate new Characteristics etc.

Before you start of the Development of the CR make sure you have all the information with you to finish the CR. At the start when you will be asked to analyze the requirement try to capture as much information as possible. To much email communication could be a burden on users so try to prepare a list Queries and send them through Email or arrange for a conversation.

Once done with the development you must test it yourself before you ask customer to test it. Prepare all the documents like Design Document, Unit test Document etc ( according to the guidelines set for your project).

Hi SChand,

Statuses depends on the Change process you are following in that project and number of states also differ.

There are specifically states like : Assigned, Analysing, Technical approval, Budget Approval, Build, Test, Implemented (Close)

Statuses like Technical aprpoval for the design or Budget approval and Test are supposed to be signed off by Customer.

And other states like Analyzing, Build etc has to be signed off by you.

If any Standard CR process is followed in your project then there will be a Workflow ( you may ask your manager to share with you), It will clarify most of the things.
