Shipment Creation

Hi all,

Iam new to this shipment. I have created delivery using Vl01n.and now i need to create shipment using VT01N.I have given the initial input like Transportation planning point and shipment type.Kindly help me in further proceedings.How to create shipment for particular delivery.I clicked delivery tab to select the available delivery but system says no delivery avialable.Kindly help me on this how should i proceed

Hi Karthikeyan,

To create shipment route needs to be maintain in the delivery, transport tab. That particular Route should be relevant for transportation.

After that click the delivery button in the input screen give the delivery number and execute f8.

Automatically delivery will appear in the shipment. To cope the same route to shipment you need to maintain Copy routine with 11 in Shipment details i.e. configuration.

SPRO-> L.E-> Transportation -

After that you need to press the planning button check in, loading start , loading End Upto shipment End..and save the shipment.

While doing the shipment completion system do the PGI and create invoice for the respective deliveris which are assigned to shipment.

For this use this Programme RV56ABST - SE38select variant-create new variant---assign this variant to shipment as an activity profile against shipment completion field..

SPRO-> L.E-> Transportation -

> Shipments--> Define and Assign Activity Profile.

You need to set up for transport relevance.

LE-> transportation->shipment->maintain transportation relevance

Here maintain transportation relevance for delivery types, item types or routes based on u r requirement.

once u do this, in outbound delivery, in the transport tab, observe trans. plan status.

karthik-after selecting the add deliveries tab in vt01n please specify a characteristic by which you would liek to create a shipment either the shipping point,ship to party or other details and execute...if there are any deleveries existing and relevant to be added to shiopments they will show up.

Hi thanks for your reply.I have done packing and created handling units in VL02N transaction.Then iam trying to create shipment using VT01N transaction by giving the delivery number.system shows delivery does not exist.should I need to follow anything during packing and handling unit creation.Kindly help me on this.

Hi i found that route was not determined in the delivery.Is tat would be one of the reason?If tat is the case how to determine the route automatically?

I have entered route manully and done.But i just want to know how to do PGi automatically form VT01N transaction so that from there i can go VF01 and create billing with ref to delivery

U need to complete the processes in the shipment like planning,check-in, loading start, loading end, ... till shipment end.

Automatically PGI will be done. In case u have a warehouse then u need to create TO, and Confirm TO. then do the process.

yes without route a shipment cannot be created.

After shipment completion VT02N PGi sis not happening.Iam getting the following error

" STATUS OF ATLEAST ONE SERIAL NUMBER OF ITEM 900001 IS NOT ALLOWED"

Kindly help me on this as iam unable to do PGI.

Iam giving the serial number during delievry creation in Extras ---> Serial Numbers.

Karthik-Please take the serial number/material and view in IQ03...if the serial number has any other status than "ESTO" it means it is already sent to the customer or being used somewhere else.Please pick a serial number with ESTO status.

If you wanna use the same serial number and track down the issue.Please look at the serial number history onto analyze where the serial number is currently located.

so this means that this serial number is eaither assigned to a different deliery and also you will hae to user serial numbers with "ESTO" status and not "ALB".

to check to which deliery this serial number is assigned please check the serial number histyory in IQ03 and there you can see the deliery it is associated with.if it is the same deliery as the one u are processing then for sure you will hae to look for a serial number with ESTO status.You can search for a diff serial number with this status in IQ09.
