RFC's Creation in Solution Manager!

Hi Experts,

1) SM_SMPCLNT200_BACK

2) SM_SMPCLNT200_TRUSTED

3) TRUSTING_SYSTEM@SMP

200 = Solman Client.What are the uses of these RFC's?When & how are they created?

SM_SMPCLNT200_BACK Is created in a managed system to communicate with the Solution Manager.

SM_SMPCLNT200_TRUSTED is a trusted connection, trusted connections are used for a number of purposes in Solution Manager, but generally they are created with the wizard in transaction SMSY or SOLMAN_SETUP in the managed systems configuration.

TRUSTING_SYSTEM@SMP is not a Solution Manager specific RFC, these are created every time you establish a trusted/trusting system relationship. You can see more details about trusting / trusted systems in note 128447.

Miguel thanks for the information.Mainly I need to maintain trusted connection from Solman to ECC.Which one will be my Trusting & which will be our trusted system?What's the difference between trusting & trusted system?

Miguel it's really a wonderful link.Thanku..But I have still little doubt.Why from Solman to ECC Trusted systems are created??Why not ordinary RFC's with user id & password??

The trust relationship is not mutual, which means, it applies to one direction only. To establish a mutual trust relationship between two partner systems, you must define each of the two as trusted systems in its respective partner system - From help.sap.com link , Whether mutual trust is required between Solman & ECC or one direction is sufficient??

In fact, if you use Solution Manager with the ChaRM scenario you need the trusted RFCs for the STMS communication.

The trusted RFCs are created if you generate them with the wizard in SMSY. Most scenarios and applications of Solution Manager let you choose the RFC that you want to use, you are not forced to use trusted RFCs unless the configuration guide for that scenario tells you to do so (one example is again RFCs to client 000 of satellite systems, these are needed for ChaRM).

Don't worry too much about the trusting / trusted relationship, you only need to look into that level if you get trusted RFC errors.

1) SM_SMPCLNT200_BACK is used by SDCC on satellite system to send Earlywatch data to Solution Manager

2) SM_SMPCLNT200_TRUSTED can be used by Solution Monitoring scenario to log on directly to a satellite system

from Solution Manager

The Trusted destination usually allows a user to log directly into the satellite system via RFC without SAPlogon or SAPGUI

from Solution Manager - although there maybe different configurations of trusted desintations and different useage depending on the scenario

Please have a look to the customizing guide in SPRO. Almost all the information you've requested is there.

In the IMG :

SAP Solution Manager -> Basic Settings -> System Landscape -> Generate RFC - Destinations (see documentation).
