Customizing how attachments are opened in the UWL

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows how to customize the way that attachments get opened in the UWL? In the preview area of the UWL you can configure it to show attachments. By default when you click on the attachment it opens it using the HTML GUI. I want to configure it to open using the Windows GUI. I can achieve this for the workitems but not for the attachments... can anyone help?

Many thanks,

Simon

Hi - were you in fact able to get this working?

We have a comparable requirement whereby when the Travel Expense bo (bus2089) appears as a (default) attachment in the Portal UWL task, and the user subsequently clicks on that link, we want a pdf form to come up showing the trip details. What is desired to come up is the same as the pdf that comes up when inside txn pr05, and clicking 'Simulate'.

So I will pose the question, has anyone out there done this? Essentially I am looking for specific Object Visualization parameters needed in swfvisu... Is this standard functionality, or do I need to build something?

Thanks,

Keith

Hi,

I am not sure if you can get the PDF working directly. But if it is possible to launch a web dynpro application, then you could easily build a WD application that simply displays the PDF.

Hi,

I think that it was possible in transaction SWFVISU. This is the transaction where you normally customize the task actions, but if I remember correctly, it was also possible to customize how the attachments (business objects and classes - and their default methods) will be opened. Try also search here in SDN, I remember seeing this discussed some time ago (how to do it with SWFVISU). Anyhow, I haven't done this, so I cannot be sure, whether it works or not.
