MII 12.1 Migration

Do anyone know of any documentation that would assist in the migration of our MII 12.0 site to MII 12.1 environment? Thanks for any information you may have on this.

Do you mean something other than exporting the 12.0 projects from the menu page, and importing them on the 12.1 system?

The ExportManifest.xml file in the project archive contains the version in the XMII_Version attribute, which MII will use to do an inline migration to any changes in the 12.1, 12.2, etc. version.

There is also a Configuration page that would allow you to do a similar export/import for Data server, time periods, navigation, etc.

1. By Migration do you mean you have one 12.0 system and one 12.1 system each on their own server. If that is the case all you need to do is export your projects and configurations on 12.0 and import them to 12.1. The migration is done inline with the import.

2. If you have a 12.0 server which you want to upgrade to 12.1 then their is an upgrade tool that will need to be downloaded an run on the 12.0 box. This tool upgrades NW to NW CE EHP1 along with upgrading MII to 12.1.

I would recommend using the 12.1 Component Upgrade Guide. Most of this guide is for the 2nd upgrade options I'd say about 75% so read only what you need.

This is a migration to a new server that has 12.1. Thanks for the information on the upgrade, though.
