SU01 mass update all users you identify with a BP And change the company address. It's the only field on address tab that you can mass update.

In SRM the user, and the business partner of the user (if it is created) has the following 3 email adresses:

  • SU01 user email address
  • Business partner email address
  • Business partner relationship email address

It is recommended to have the same email address in the above listed places (except some special cases).

Possible ways for email maintenance

  1. Users can maintain/modify their own SU01 user email addresses:
    1. In Portal / Home / SRM User settings / User account tab
    2. In transaction SU3 (or SU01, if they have authorization to it)
  2. The business partner's email address can be changed in transaction BP.
  3. The business partner's relationship address is automatically generated. It is going to be created when the business partner is going to be assigned to an other business partner (assigning an employee to a new organization unit in transaction PPOMA_BBP for example)

The above listed e-mail addresses are not going to be synchronized automatically with each other. It is possible (but not recommended), that the same person has 3 different email addresses maintained in the 3 listed places.

When are the email addresses synchronized?

SAP standard is, that SU01 user is created with email address.

When the SU01 user is going to be placed into the PPOMA hierarchy (using transaction USERS_GEN with option: Copy User and Employee Data from Template / Create Users from Existing SU01 Users) than the SU01 user's email address is going to be copied to the business partner, and to the business partner's relationship address.

It is also possible to generate user from File, or from other system, etc. through transaction USERS_GEN. Than it is the same situation. If the email address is maintained in the source file or system, than it is going to be copied into SU01, to the business partner and to the relationship address.

If the business partner and the SU01 user already exists and the business partner's email address is maintained it is an other case. When the assignment of the business partner is changed (assigned to an other organizational unit, etc.), than the maintained email address of the business partner is going to be copied to the relationship address (so if the relationship email address has been modified, it is going to be overwritten). But in this case (if the BP email is different than SU01 email) the SU01 email address is not going to be synchronized with the other values.

How can the different email addresses be synchronized (or changed to the same value)?

In any other cases, the email addresses are not going to be synchronized with each other. In the function module BBP_USER_CHANGE_FIELDS you can modify all of the email addresses (SU01, BP and relationship) in the same time. You have to put an 'X' into field 'CHANGE_E_MAIL', maintain the new email address to 'E_MAIL' field, than execute the function module.

Hello Prashant,

Thanks for the update , but our concern is to assign the company for the user.
