PR and PO release

Hi

What is the significance of PR release at both item and header level and PO release only at header level?

Is it just for business requirement or is there anything else?

Regards

Soumen

PR is an internal document which can have several lines. Header level release can release all lines at one time, whereas PR are generated from different departments of a company. If suppose 10 line items were created, and just 5 needs to get approved. How can we do that in Header level. This is where item by item release comes in play, where we can release PR's at item levels.

PO is legal document which is transmitted to vendor and is basically made in reference to PR or quotation. When there are item by item checks placed on PR, which then can be converted to PO, so there is no need in placing item by item release in PO as well. Thats why PO has just header release.

      HI Soumen

PR can be released at Header Level & Item Level respectively. When we run MRP automatically all items will be created in single PR or multi depends upon our settings. Where as in a single PR so many materials related to different buyers and different vendors. Who ever releasing the PR donu2019t know about all items in single PR. Thatu2019s why the provision has given for 2 way releasing.

In PO it will be raised on a Single Vendor and many PRs can be used for a single PO. Depends upon the authorizations it has to be released at Header Level only.

    hi

in pr we have both the option, with and without classification. therefore you can release it at both header and item level respectively. but for po we just have release with classification and it is possible at header level only.

    thanks

    Hi,

PR is internal document which is prepared by purchasing team for internal requirements. It should be released either at header level if all items are required. It should be released at item level depending on the requirement of the item. So PR releasee is at header and item level.

PO is the one doucment with all line items sent to one vendor. So, PO release at Header level. PO is placing order as per requirement.

    Hope you got the concept

    Regards,
