Hi folks,

Anyone can give me the difference between SAP-PM & SAP-CS? I know that both a combined in EAM but I would like to know the differences.

PM is for our own assets & CS for clientsu2019 assets but I think there are more (detailed) differences, right?

Thanks in advance

Regards

David

SAP-PM->

1. In-house maintenance.

2. Carries cost.

SAP-CS->

1. Maintenance at customer locations/as par customer requirement.

2. You will bill ur customer and earn revenue.

3. It mainly starts after saling ur products to customer (for OEM).

4. Warranty management comes into play.

5. You can handle returns of goods from customer and subsequent repair.

6. You can deliver spare parts required for customer repair. (Intercompany scenario also comes into paly)

7. You can use CS for commisioning new Equipments at customer location.

SAP seems to taking away the CS functionality to CRM step by step.

So if you have CRM, make sure it talkes to ERP to be able to plan your Maintenance.

In conventional thumb rule. PM is attach to MM and CS is attach to SD.

David,

As you say, PM is for maintenance of your assets.

CS is either maintenance of the customer's assets or assets on rental to the customer. CS includes all the functionality of the PM module plus the ability to invoice the customer for any work performed and any maintenance contracts. There are other CS specific functionality such as quotations, return & repair processing etc. All this additional functionality is mostly in the SD module
