I am experiencing an apparent bug in the execution of the "Underlay Following Sections" feature of the Section Expert.
My report was originally created in CR 8.5, while my current install version of Crystal Reports is 11.5.12.1838. I believe I have the latest Service Pack (Version 6) installed as part of this version.
I have the Section Expert formatting Group Header 3 to Underlay following sections (box checked). For the first subgroup under Group Header 2, data in Group Header 4 does underlay (align vertically with GH3). But, for any subsequent GH4 groupings within the same GH3 class, the GH4 data is not underlying/aligning. Instead a linefeed is resulting after the GH3 data, with GH4 coming one line lower.
This pattern repeats with subsequent GH2 classes (first GH4 underlays GH3, subsequent records do not).

As far as I can tell, the same options that applied (and functioned "properly") under CR 8.5 are present in CR XI - but running the report under CR XI creates these extra line feeds where CR 8.5 did not.
Are there futher/additional options that I need to address when using a CR 8.5 report in the CR XI environment - or is this otherwise a known issue with CR XI? I have seen some various service notes related to bugs with the feature Underlay Following Sections (#1220514, #1216280) - but did not see a direct correlation to my installed version or situation.
Any help, or additonal questions of my situation, is welcome.
Thanks

Hello Tim,
Did you get a solution ? I'm facing the same issue with Crystal 2008 SP4
Underlay seems to work on details section, but not on my GH...
