Enhacements without abapers

Hello All! Are FICO consultant's allowed do very basic enhancements without developers key? For instance : adding a field in FBL5N, changing field name from "state" to "region" etc etc.... I guess literally there is no need of abaper in this. OR Alternatively ---- it is MUST required to write functional specifications and give it to abaper? If YES???? Then this is going to create unnecessary delay in project, how to streamline the process then....? 🤔 please share your real time environment experiences.... thank you!

Hi,

Adding a new field or changing filed name can't be done at transaction level, so it needs developer help.

yes, i agree there is delay for small enhancements but at the same time SAP can't compromise on security and integrity aspect. Different roles for functional consultants and developers meant for this.
