Dropdown values that contain commas, &, @ etc.

I'm using Design Studio 1.5 and have a dropdown box populated with a list of dimension members. Some of these members contain characters such as commas, %, &, @ and the like.

The purpose of the dropdown is to pass a parameter to another data source to refresh and this is done successfully for approx. 90% of cases. However, where a member value contains one of the above characters the value is not recognised and is not applying the filter to the corresponding data source.

For some instances the character itself gets dropped and then the value doesn't match the underlying database function parameter for the restricted data source.

Is there any scripting I can put in place to ensure that these values are passed correctly?

Please see the last response on this thread - - is it browser related, and have you patched up 1.5?

it doesn't appear to be browser related and having upgraded to 1.6 I am experiencing the same issue. The error message states that the Input has an invalid format.

The interesting thing is that when you edit the query specification and input that particular value it returns the expected result however when you input the same value into the initial view it throws the error

    Hi Matthew,

Can you provide the script code you have applied to pass the item selected from the dropdown to the data source?
