Experts,
I have a question on BOM's: My Client have individual parts that is produced from +- 30,000 separate components - some of these in sub-assemblies carried forth into the next BOM and so forth.
1. Are there a limit in how many sub-assembly lines can be on one BOM?
2. Are there a limit on how deep the sub-assemblies can go?
3. Will have having 30,000 parts to a BOM be an issue in performance? I'm not sure yet if this is HANA or SQL....
Thanks!
Marli
Hi Marli,
As kothandaraman.nagarajan said, there is no system limit, but in my experience BOMs do affect performance in automated (DI API, DI Server, etc) scenarios.
If a total BOM of 30.000 items, on multiple levels, is a possibility, then I doubt that such a scenario can be realized without automation.
I strongly recommend testing before promising.

Johan

Hi,
There is no limitation found for creating sub assembly and its level. Also, i don't think performance issue from SQL or HANA.
But there will be if there is need to create any report or layout for production orders.
