Maintenance Optimizer: No Addon Product Version allowed

I completed the installation for SLD and Maintenance Optimizer worked fine for upgrading our Solution Manager system.

However, it doesn't work for our ERP system and fails on Select Files with the error message: "No Addon Product Version allowed for transaction: EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01".

I also found that if I continue the system does not give any stack options on the next screen. So, I am guessing that Maintenance Optimizer somehow doesn't know the version of my ERP system...

I don't see any other error messages, but many warnings in the log. Besides warning messages for SLM (still in the process of being configured), I see many warning messages like "Component version ... not found" which are probably causing the problem.

Any suggestions for me?

Thanks,

Jens

Hi ,

However, it doesn't work for our ERP system and fails on Select Files with the error message: "No Addon Product Version allowed for transaction: EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01".

Check whether solution manager has complete patch information of your ERP system.

You can check in SMSY tcode of solution manager.

If it does'nt have patch information , you can do that by clicking on Read system data in SMSY by selecting system specific system.

Thanks

Anil

David, when I switch to ERP 6.0 the system doesn't show the versions of some of my SPs in SMSY. I mean the satellite system shows as ERP 6.0/NW 7.01 in system info. I also get a yellow flag (newer version available) when I switch it to ERP 6.0.

Anil, I think you are asking me if SMSY shows the current SP information, right? Yes, it does.

It seems that something isn't right with Maintenance Optimize determining my SP stack version even though it is available in SMSY. Furthermore, it also seems to have trouble checking my current EHP pack version. So, it seems that something is wrong with my setup for Maintenance Optimizer.

I also noticed that the Support Package Stacks view in Solution Manager has the same problem. It shows my current stack information properly, but it doesn't make any proposals for "Available Stack".

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Jens

Please check in SMSY --> landscape components --> systems, which product this system is assigned to? SAP ECC or SAP ERP?

Hi Fan,

I originally used EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01. Currently, I forced it to ERP 6.0, but this gives me a yellow warning message (= newer version available) and so I am inclined to switch it back.

I think the key for the problem is Maintenance Optimizer not being aware of my current stack version even though it is visible in SolMan and SLD.

Second problem seems to be that Solman/SLD believe that an older version than my currently installed version is the latest version.

Best regards,

Jens

I cannot locate where this "EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01" you're referring to, I meant in SMSY --> Landscape components --> Systems.

I think the cause is still in SMSY. As a proof I just did a test for you that having system categorized as "SAP ECC" doesn't give you any download option other than ECC 6.0 stack info in maintenance optimizer, but after changing system component to "SAP ERP" there's one more choice comes up in the phase "select file" which is "enhancement pack installation" that enables you to find all 4 upgrade files and NW 7.01 stack info.

You could find me ufan88 on googletalk if the problem still persists, probably need to take a closer look.

Hi Fan,

That's the Product Version shown for my system listed under SMSY -> Landscape Components -> Systems.

I added you to my Google Talk account.

Thanks,

Jens

Thank you very much for helping me out Fan!

I really appreciate your effort.

In the end it turns out that I selected the wrong product id even and even though I am sure I tested the new version before it suddenly works.

Cheers,

Jens

Hello Jens,

Can you please tell what exactly did you do to solve the issue?

I am also getting a similar error for my SRM system.

I am sorry, but I already said what I did. I simply picked the wrong version.

In my specific case the development system is an ERP 6.0. For some reason I picked EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01 which did NOT work. The correct selection is ERP 6.0 even though my system, is on EHP4. Depending on your product db version, you might find the correct selection under ECC -> ERP 6.0 or simply under ERP -> ERP 6.0.

So, the solution is to double check that you picked the correct version. Nothing else.

Hope this will help others.

Cheers,

Jens

Thanks Jens. I had a little different scenario. I had upgraded from ERP 6.0 to ERP 6.0 with EHP4 only Central components and HCM (604). Now we needed to upgrade EA-DIMM as well. Since product version changed from ERP 6 to EHP4 I changed it in Sol man as well and this was giving error while creating stack xml.

I changed it back to ERP even though my system is not erp anymore its on 701. It worked.

Thanks

Hello,

Check if the product version for the system is defined as "EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01".

If this is the case, please register the system as "SAP ERP 6.0".

It should help to resolve the error.

David
