Cancelling Error Messages from Adapter Engine in Bulk

Former Member

Hi All,

There are over 50000 error messages that have gone into error status in Adapter engine due to incorrect configuration maintained.

The message status in SXMB_MONI is successful. The QOS is EO. Is there a way to cancel all these messages in Bulk, other than using RWB.

RWB provides an option only till 10000 messages and it takes a lot of time to cancell the messages often getting into session time out.

Regards,

Sathya

Hi Sathya,

It's better not to cancel the messages, its already processed from Integration engine so first you stop your channel and make the proper changes and activate it. Then go to message monitoring and start resending the messages. It will be done by selecting mulitple options. As the messages will be processed you can check in channel again to find it's done or not.

We are having the same problem. It is not our intention to restart the messages, but cancel them to prevent the restart job from restarting them forever (once a day). Unfortunately, the button in the box named "Status Overview for Selected Row" in the RWB Message Monitor (View mode: Database Overview) doesn't work (throws the error:

"Could not execute action 'Cancel'. Message: ProcessorException in Method: CentralViewManager: processAction( IView, IViewData, UIPeriod, IAttribute, IAttribute ). Process exception to perform the action: CANCEL. Message: com.sap.aii.af.service.statistic.proxy.ProcessorException".

So is there really no other way to cancel old, failed messages? (Set their status to FAIL instead of NDLV).

First of all change the configuration and try to resend the messages.

Also another workaround is to leave the messages as it is. As you mentioned messages are EO type, so those will not block any SERIALIZEATION queue. Once your configuration is ok, new messages should reach the target system without getting queud up anywhere.

And if you want to Cancel the messages, i think there are no other option, choose 1000/5000 messages at a time and cancel.

change the channel configuration and activate. Then resend the failed messages from RWB.

You can use Multiple Select on button to select multiple message to cancel or resend. (note: you can also filter out messages by their status)
