Dear Friends,
I have got two types of raw materials for which QM is activated.
These two types of raw materials are inspected by two different departments.
Kindly let me know how to control the autorisation so that one department won't be able to inspect the materials relevant for other department.
Regards
Hi,
You will not be able to control this based on Material type.
You will have to assign QM authorization group to the material masters in QM view depending upon who is going to inspect the material. Then in the role, you can assign the QM authorization group of the respective departments & then assign the roles to the users in the department. In this case, you will have to create as many roles depending upon how many departments inspec the material.
Hope above solvs the problem.
Regards,
Prashant

If you use inspection plans, you can add workcenters to the operations. Create two plans, one for each material. Add different work centers to each, i.e. one work center for each department.
You can then set up the security on the work center. This is especially useful if you have several operations where each operation is a different set of tests performed by differenent groups for the same material.

Dear,
You can control this by inspection type you need to create the new inspection type say Z1 by copying the standard inspection type 01 and assign this to respective raw materials.
And Authorisation object is Q_INSPTYPE for inspection type for the Insp. Lot assign to respective depertment user only.
and for materail authorization object Q_MATERIAL.
Please try and come back after that you will get error message QA 170 ("You do not have authorization for inspection type xx")

Hi,
You can use QM authorization group available in QM View as "QM MAterial Auth" to control this.
Thanks
