Can Virtual Key Figures be used with Non-Cumulative Key Figures

Dear experts,

I have a requirement on hand and I need some guidance:

In our Inventory Reporting scenario we need to be able to valuate the stock quantities according to a specific valuation table (the values will be stored in a separate ODS)

Our inventory cube is modeled with stock balance as a non-cumulative Key Figure with in- and outflow and therefore it is not directly stored in the cube, but calculated at the time of query execution.

Our plan is to use a Virtual Key Figure to dynamically access the valuation table with the Stock Balance of a specific Material/SKU at query runtime in order to calculate the stock value (Stock Quantity * Value from table)

My Question:

It is possible to use our stock balance (non-cumulative key figure) as input for the calculation of the stock value in a virtual key figure?

(I think it depends on what is internally calculated first during query execution: The non-cumulative Key figure OR the Virtual Key Figure)

I hope that somebody already came across a similar situation to share some insight with me.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers

Joachim
